Because my father was not in my life and is now deceased, my Mom was my everything. So, it was always a given in my mind that she'd walk me down the aisle when I married. And she's thrilled to do it! But then my matron of honor suggested I dance with Mom at the reception, too (when my FI is dancing with his Mom). I'm not sure, because I don't want it to look like I'm trying to have my mom do all the things traditionally done by the father. And it might look silly, no? However, I do want to honor her as much as possible throughout the wedding, and I am still trying to figure out a way to incorporate Carrie Underwood's "Mama's Song" (grab a tissue
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpFW4Yhy08k) into the reception somehow. Should I just go with it and dance with Mom? If not, with whom should I dance when he dances with his Mom? Would it be OK to boogie with his brother?
Dances:
groom w/ bride's mom & bride w/ groom's dad
groom w/ groom's mom & bride w/ ???
