Alright. So I haven't been to very many weddings, and I don't know exactly what the tradition with the garter is. I know the groom takes it off the bride and tosses it... but to who? Just a crowd of random male guests (for example, would it include +1s that we don't know?), or is it like just groom's friends? And then doesn't the guy who catches it put it on someone? Who? Or am I making that up? Could someone please explain it to me?
Also... I'm not sure I want to do it because it seems boarderline inappropriate and my FI's entire family is Mormon, and they're all about the modesty thing, so I feel like they wouldn't appreciate it. Are you guys doing it? Why/why not? Thoughts?
