Shamelessly begging - update on drama

Okay most of you all know my whole drama here and here's an update. My FI was rejected by two more positions here in San Antonio and is desperate. We've been talking about the whole thing and he doesn't have enough money to move here without landing a job to help him out. I was wondering if any of you wonderful ladies know of anyone who could use an IT person who's willing to start at the beginning. I do have his resume if you know anyone. I would be forever grateful.

He tried rackspace and got the thanks but no thanks letter. He has 3 yrs of experience as an IT but doesn't have a degree in that field. One would think based on experience he'd be fine but I'm guessing not. I've been having him try again. So far he's been rejected for nearly all jobs he's applied to and that's about 50+ applications. He's submitted his resume to hiring agencies here online. He's so desperate he's looking at almost anything right now. I feel so bad.

I would think that he could apply for just about any position at this point.  At least to hold him over until he can find the job he wants.  Once he broadens the search to other fields, he'll be more likely to land a job, even if it's not an ideal situation.  Sorry this is becoming so stressful.  It's never fun to be in this situation.  :(  Wish I could offer more advice... Best of luck!

Thanks for your help though. In situations like mine hearing input from others is a huge help since it's unbiased. I've been trying to call in favors left and right with my own resources. At this point I don't care if he's a Wal Mart greeter.

FI has a friend who is a corporate recruiter for a company called Aerotek. He seems to be able to find anyone a job. Maybe if he hasnt tried there yet that would be a good place. www.aerotek.com Just FYI, the website looks like they only have jobs for certain fields, but if he calls a recruiter he might be suprised how many positions in different fields are available here. GL and I've got you two in my prayers!

Try Mr. Notebook. They don't pay much but it's a paycheck. They'll probably hire him. I used to work there. :/ Good luck!

Hey there!  Have you tried www.usajobs.gov? They are always looking for IT people and are always hiring!!  Good luck!

I believe he did apply to the Randolph Brooks post and heard nothing from them and he's been applying like crazy to the usajobs site. Civil Service is known for be insanely slow and tend to wait until the posting is closed before evaluating for the job. Nuts if you ask me lol. He's going to try to make an "emergency" trip here for the job fair on the 25th in hopes something works.

I saw that someone had posted something on aerotech. They are a great company and heled my FI get a job 1 1/2 yrs ago. While we are San Antonio knotties, we live in Austin. My FI had applied for 50+ jobs when he moved here with a few interviews and no luck. He filled out an application/ sent a resume/ and a cover letter about 4pm one evening and called them an hour later ( at 5pm) to confirm that they had recieved his info. They set up an interview for the next day and had a job in less than a week. Hope this helps!God bless!Meredith :)
