What do your Tattoos mean?

I was reading the post below and was wondering if the bride even knew what those tatts meant to her sister. I have a friend with a beautiful star field 1/2 sleeve that is a memorial to loved ones she has lost in her life. Another friend just found out that her friend's mom has breast cancer and had a pink ribbion tatt that afternoon. Everyone I've asked has a story to their tatt. So if you would like to share, I would love to know what your tatts mean to you and to see any photos if you have them!

• Normal 0 It's a stargazer lily. I had a friend named Tucker who gave me my first stargazer lily. He committed suicide at 16. I didn't want to get his name tattoo, so I thought a stargazer lily because he gave me one and blue because well he was a boy.Would like to show you one more, but it's not mine. It's a friend's.My friend's boyfriend was killed in a car accident. She got this on her foot it says "Always in my heart BJG."
• sorry about the weird fonts...and wanted to add mine is on my right shoulder blade
• I've thought about getting a tattoo, but I'm too much of a wuss and have kind of a phobia of needles.  Ah well.My sister has a tattoo on her lower back with a rose and the date of the car accident which put her in the ICU for two months.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
• One of my BMs has some tattoos ... she has a hip piece that is a tribute to her grandfather, a back tattoo for her Straight Edge lifestyle, and her one visible tattoo is a nautical star (but IDK what the significance of that is).

• I haven't figured out how to attach my pics to this yet. So far I just have one tatto on my right foot. It is a tiger lily my tatto artist actually used a pic I took for the artwork. The tattoo has about 7 colors in it and most of the colors have a meaning themselfs different from the tatto meaning its self. The tigerlily is one of my three favorite flowers, I look forward to midspring and early summer so I can watch them bloom and take pictures. So the tiger lily it self means looking to the future. The placement of it on my right foot means taking the right steps to the future. The black in it represent the hard time and challanges I have over come to get to where I am now the yellow is to look for birghter days the orange is also to look for brighter days and it is the main color of the flower and also I'm from Tennessee and a TN VOLS football fan so its close to the uniform orange so matter  where I go in life I remember who I am and where I come from. Pink is for me because it is my favorite color. Red is for the anger I left in the past that I refuse to let take over my future. Then the rest of the colors are just for datails.  Sorry this is really long but that is what my tattoo means to me. It may sound dorky but it's who I am and what it represents and people who know me understand and love it.
• I too am a baby and could not deal with tattoo pain. I do however, have a brave friend who got one in memory of a little boy that she used t babysit and I guess had lukemia. His name was William and he was only 6 or something, so she got a butterfly in the shape of a W. It's on her ankle.

• Thank you so much for sharing! This is exactly why brides should not ask their friends to cover their tattoos. It's almost like saying, I'm sorry, the the vietnam memorial won't work for my event, it will have to be covered.

• I have 1, 2nd in the works first is on my foot, a half heart with a K.  My 2 best friends are Karli and Kathie, we all went different ways after school but wanted to keep our bond.  One has the other half of my heart and the third (got hers last) has a full heart with the KThe 2nd tat that i am working on is script "love is patient, love is kind, it always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres, love never fails"Before FI and I met I was in a bad and abusive relationship.  I knew it was unhealthy; mentally, physically, spiritually, but I didn't know how to end it.  We actually met while I was still in that relationship and the friendship I formed helped give me the courage to stand up to my ex.  Since then FI has helped me learn to trust, to love and shown me what real love is.  I think I will get this tattoo'd up my side.  kinda following the curves of my hip up toward my chest.  Hard to explain!!sry for long post
