[QUOTE]In Response to Re: WPBP of the day : She was an awful person to work with and for. She had her own entity that did all the interior design and architecture standards for the banks (part of how they got into trouble), and she was an absolute nightmare. No one was sad to see her go. She would walk around the openings just pointing at things with her little dog either being carried or walking next to her piddling on things, not ever actually saying anything, just pointing at things she didn't like. The openings were SO stressful. People are out of line with their pets sometimes. It's really true. But people can be so self centered, none of it surprises me anymore.

I have no idea if it's true or not, but I heard from a few different people that at the main building, there was somebody on the payroll who's job was mainly to clean up after her dog (Just in that building). Could totally be a rumor ... but it actually sounds plausible considering how many other "dog-related" stories I've heard about her.

When it comes to their dogs, I'm noticing people are turning into those parents that don't discipline their kids: "Oh Bobby is my precious-wecious widdle angel! Why should I care if he makes a mess in a public place? The customer is always right, so the peons working there should be honored to clean up after him!". Bobby could easily be a dog or a child in that sentence.

I really get that dogs (And kids) are members of the family. But it's not always appropriate to bring them places, no matter how inconvenient finding a sitter is for you. And if you do insist on bringing them where they don't belong, then you, as the owner/parent need to accept responsibility for them and make sure they can behave properly.

Haha to the best of my knowledge, that was just a rumor. But it would not shock me. This lady was a trip.

And I agree 100%.

Have you ever been to a wedding where there was an animal in the ceremony? No

What is the first thing you complain about to others when you went to a bad wedding? Haven't been to a bad wedding yet.
Have you ever been demoted as a bridesmaid? No
Have you ever caught the bouquet? Yes, and my now DH caught the garter. If it weren't for this tradition (and a little luck), we may never have met.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: WPBP of the day : Oh you guys are gonna hate me.....NO, I don't bring Trixie into Commerce. I don't use commerce at all. But I do bring her into stores. Only ones that allow dogs though. Everyone always wants to pet her. It's so strange because I've always learned that you ask to pet a dog before you actually do it....people don't seem to do that with her. They can't resist. We went into a bodega recently and this little old lady freaked out when she saw Trixie, telling me that she was afraid of dogs. We moved to the back of the store so she could finish her shopping, but as soon as she left, the entire staff was like "This little dog scared her?! WTF?"

Some people really are that scared of dogs. My brother and I were giving FMIL a lift and I was holding his little dog in my lap:

She wasn't as scared as she is of our German Shepard, but she politely asked me to keep the dog as far away as possible from her.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: WPBP of the day : Ok, do you want to hear the really bizarre part of that story? Of course you do: The girl that eventually "won" was a lesbian ... who was there with her girlfriend. Girlfriend did not participate in the garter toss (I don't really know why she would have), so a guy "won" and had to put the garter on her. Girl who caught the bouquet after it's all over, drags the girlfriend out to the parking lot and proceeds to scream at her for 20 minutes because she (girlfriend) "let a man touch her"(bouquet catcher). Like she wanted the girlfriend to get jealous and make an ass out of herself. This is another one of those times that I really wish I was making this all up.

This is the grossest "tradition" ever. I had never even heard of it before TK. I've always loved the bouquet and garter tosses, but I think I'd feel very differently about them if I grew up with this!! EW.

I hate this tradition ... but for some reason, if you have a garter toss in my area, that's "just what you do". I actually think part of why the trend of tosses is dying around here is because so many other people just find the whole thing to be nasty. I know that's 1/2 the reason we skipped it (The other 1/2 being I didn't want DH climbing under my dress before Nana and God to remove it from me in the first place).
