QOTD

Do you read? I am talking reading a book because you enjoy it and just want to read. Not reading because it's required by a class you are taking.

If you read, what are you currently reading?

Re: QOTD

  • I'm a nerd so I only really read science-y stuff.

  • The Long Run, Its about a NY Fireman who was run over by a bus, and has since recovered and defied the odds and is now a marathon man. :-)

I love to read but I know since I'm starting school again, my fun reading will be little or none....

  • I love reading! I could read all day long. I am currently reading "Life as I know it" it is about a girl who was struck by lightning and can't remember her life from before.

  • I'm reading The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo right now. It's really great so far! It's a little slow in the beginning, but it's worth it to get through that first part.
  • I like to read. Right now I am currently reading The Hunger Game series. I finished the first book and started the second book yesterday. I join good reads and a TK book club. I suck at being a part of the book club though. I am behind since they all ready read HG

I LOVE the Hunger Game books...

  • I really enjoy reading.  Right now I'm reading Life, Love and a Polar Bear Tattoo...it was a free book I got on my nook so I was skeptical but it actually hasn't been too bad.
  • I always find books I want to read, but never find time to read them.  My friend gave me Water for Elephants to read before the movie comes out so we can see it together.  I haven't started it.  I bought Tina Fey's book but haven't started that yet either.
The last book I finished was the 3rd Cheslea Handler book back in August when we were on vacation :) it was hilarious, but not as good as the 1st one.
WR - I am in the middle of both Offbeat Bride and Bridal Bargains.

  • I LOVE reading!  I'm not in the middle of anything right now, I got out of the habit of reading in college when all of my time was spent reading "required" things.  I'm looking forward to having free time this summer to get back into the swing of reading for pleasure :)

  • I just finished reading Two Kiss for Maddy, it's a memoir of a man whose daughter was born then the next day he was widowed. I've been following his blog for quite a while and the book was amazing.

  • Oh I love reading, like a PP said, I could do it all day.  I'm currently reading The Runaway Jury by John Grisham, but I'm almost done!  I really like his books, but I read lots of different types of books, pretty much anything.

midget-I read the first two in that series.  It is hard to get through the beginning, and parts of the first book are pretty disturbing, but its a really good series.

Cassandra-I read the Chelsea Handler books too and I thought the same thing!  The third one was definitely the worst.  I heard she has a new one out though (or coming out soon), so hopefully that will be better.

Dodgers-I love goodreads!  I definitely recommend it to anyone that's looking for new books to read, I tell all my friends about it!

  • I love to read! I used to work in a book store, and it was heaven :) Right now I am reading the Janet Evanovich Stephanie Plum series. I had heard it was good but never really got into it. But I started a while ago and now I am on book 8. I love them, they are easy reads and pretty funny!

I love reading and would rather read than watch tv.  I am in a bookclub with some friends and right now we are reading Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurnier.

@MMRoberts - I read science-y stuff too, but it's not as easy reading, so while I'm in school I find myself reading fiction for pleasure more often.

@sprty - that book sounds interesting, let me know how it is...I may pick that book up next.

@ dodger - I LOVE the HG series!!!

@ cassandra - Water for Elephants is a really good book too!!!  I can't wait to see the movie.  Reese Witherspoon is one of my favorite actresses.

@ emily - that sounds like a good book too...I will have to add that to my list of "to read" books!

  • I think the Hunger Games is going to have to be the next book I pick up. I've heard such good things about it.

@Michelle - Yeah, parts of it so far have been a little disturbing but I have a feeling it'll get more disturbing. :)
  • I love to read, but can't currently sit down and enjoy a book because of school.  When I read I like to read the whole way through, not get interrupted with required reading from school.

I love anything written by Jodi Picoult.  I'm about to go on vacation in May and I'm hoping to find a good book to read while I lay out by the pool and FI goes to ride his motorcycle.

Keep the good book suggestions coming!

  • @MM Roberts - Have you ever read Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy? Judging by your comment you would LOVE It! It's one of my favorite books/series of all time.
  • Clue me in....what is the Hunger Game book about???

  • I love to read. I own a Kindle and it is the most amazing thing ever. Lately I just haven't had the time though. I think I go in spurts were I read all the time and then not for awhile.

  • I love to read!! I have to leave myself time to read even with my crazy school schedule! I just finished reading A Sundog Moment. It's about a lady who gets diagnosed with MS and how she deals with it. And I am getting ready to start Something Blue.

  • I love to read and am in need to some good books suggestions. I'm currently reading "The Late, Lamented Molly Marx" which is a bit of a chick book but interesting. It's about a young woman who passes away and watches her family from the afterlife.

Right before this I read the "Dragon Tatoo" series and loved them. I'm so sad the author passed away since he had 10 books planned for the series. Midget: it will definitely get more disturbing but I think the book is good enough to make up for it.

I absolutely love reading.  Unfortunately, unable to read anything at the moment because I am finishing my year-long internship/preparing to find a job and graduate from my Master's program so life is overwhelmed and my escape right now is wedding planning, but I cannot wait for life to calm down a bit and enjoy my books.

I love anything by James Patterson, Nicholas Sparks, Jodi Picoult, Mary Higgins Clark, and anything that my friends suggest to me.

That sounds a lot like The Lovely Bones, which I read before I saw the movie, and both made me cry. Great read but sad because people actually do things like that.

I'm glad that it's still good although disturbing!
  • I enjoy reading.  Even while in school I like to have a leisure read going at all times.  I try to read a chapter or two a night.  I just finished The Commoner by John Burnham Schwartz which is about a common Japanese girl who marries the crowned prince.  It was pretty good.  I kept thinking about Will and Kate while reading it.  Now I'm reading The Yiddish Policemen's Union by Michael Chabon.  I just really started it and it's interesting so far.

@Cassandra - Water for Elephants is one of my new favorites.  It's soooo good and I can't wait to see how it translates for the movie.

The Help by Kathryn Stockett is another new good one that will be a movie later this year if anyone is interested in reading before watching.
  • i LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to read, i am a read a holic actually, i read EVERY single day, you do not catch me without a book close by, i read everywhere i go. I even read when i go to the spa etc.

I just finished girl with the dragon tattoo and am now on the 2nd book, as well as 2 other books that i have started.

  • I LOVE reading for fun. I got a nook for graduation last year and I'm obsessed with it. I'm not currently reading anything (unless editing FI's law school papers count)...but I'm sure I'll start something soon! I love anything with a happy ending...or Harry Potter (which I guess, also has a happy ending).
