Color conundrum....a bit long

Ok, this is my second post today....FI and I are having an issue with color. Our wedding colors are pewter, platinum, and a deep cream. We are having a formal evening wedding and reception is in ballroom at a hotel. We initially decided on flowers in shades of cream and green, but we decided to get a lighting package that will give us different color lighting for each dinner course and the dance portion. Our issue is picking what colors to use for the lighting and additional flowers. FI fav color is orange, mine is pink. He suggested plum. We are getting married in October, but I didn't want the traditional Halloween colors. Please help ladies, we are going home next weekend and having second meeting with florist.TIA

Honestly I like the orange, pink and plum color palette. That just sounds pretty. And it is not Halloween-ish. Did you have any other colors in mind if these colors were not your choice?

I don't have choices yet. I like the plum, FI doesn't want to do pink b/c he says it's too cute. Originally we were going to do the grays and pale yellow, but ruled that out. I thought of pale blue, almost ice, but thought it looked too winter like. See why I need help. LOL

I can see why you would be in somewhat of a funk lol. Your FI is not willing to bend with the fuschia color? Men usually don't do pink, my FI is one of them lol. I think if he saw the color scheme together he may see it differently. this is a hard one. I am usually good at this kind of stuff. If I am not much help I apologize. I just think the color scheme you mentioned is an excellent choice.

If you want to bring in the Fall feel I would go with plum and it would be striking honestly. Go look at color palettes using your colors for more inspiration. hth

Lovie - Girl I am having the same issue. My FI picked our wedding colors burnt orange, chocolate and irvory (my first thoughts too were so Halloweenish). The burnt orange is more of an ascent color. Yes, we are also getting married in Oct 2010. I think it will be how you incorporate the colors within the ballroom.I think guys in general try to stay away from PINK. I think plum is an excellent compromise for up-lighting in a ball room. I think what can help you make up your minds is going to do a practice run or look at the up lighting possibly in the colors of your choice. HTH
