Halloween!

Here are a few photos from our night. We went to the mall for trick or treating first and Kidlet refused to stay in his wheelchair very long. It was easier to get him in and out of it without the horse attached, so we opted to get horse pictures at Grandma's later.






And yes, the horse even had a tail:

Thank you! The horse body was the easiest to put together, but the most complicated to create. I draped and pinned it four times before I finally found the best way and sewed the fasteners in. The tunic was just a pillowcase with gold ribbon hot glued on. The cape drove me nuts - I think I will never work with jersey knit fabric again. My sewing machine tried to eat it three times!

He has your basic pumpkin bucket, lime green (he picked it himself) and filled it abot 1/3 of the way at the mall. We have a smallish mall, so there aren't a whole lot of stores and a few had run out of candy before we got there. So 1/3 full was pretty good. Then Grandma gave him a bunch because she had two big buckets to give out, and only 8 kids came by the whole night. Their neighborhood has a lot of older kids.

I got home with Kidlet around 8:30 and my roommate told me we hadn't gotten a single child - not even the kids who live in the otherhalf ofour duplex - ALL night. Granted, our neighborhood isn't very safe - few lights, no sidewalks, somewhat busy - so chances are the parents opted to take them to other neighborhoods.

Wow! I'm glad both of you had a wonderful time! His outfit is so adorable!

We had a lot of kiddos come through the neighborhood, and we ran out of candy about 7pm!  The first door bell ring was about 5pm!  We had fun!
