Washington Wine Question

Hi ladies!

I'm kind of a lurker and just getting down to planning details of my August wedding.  I've asked a few questions on this board and everyone has been so helpful!  Does anyone have any suggestions/info on ordering Washington wines in bulk?  Any recommendations for specific vineyards?  We're thinking of giving wine as our wedding favors and are just starting to research this.  Thanks in advance!

I think my first question would be how much are you hoping to spend per bottle? Is there a certain vintage or winemaker that you love?

I know that FI and I have had the best luck working with people in our local wine shops. They'll talk to us about what tastes we like, and then recommend a few to try. That being said, you can always contact the winery directly and ask to speak to a sales manager or marketing manager, that way you can ask about the price per bottle if you buy in bulk. My personal local favorite is the Woodinville winery DeLille Cellars, both their reds and whites have become favorites for FI and myself. That being said, Milbrandt Vineyards has an amazing pinot gris! One of my favorites! Latah Creek Winery in Spokane is also very good.

But again, all of this would depend on your price point and how much you're looking to spend.

Have you considered bottling your own wine?  You can personalize your labels, which would be great for favors!  That's what we're doing for our wedding and it's actually really affordable.  We're using Castle Bridge Winery in Renton.  http://www.castlebridgewinery.com/

They are super nice and easy to work with, and it's pretty fun going in and stomping grapes and making the wine.

Not sure if it's something you're interested in, but I thought I would throw it out there!

    Good luck!

    Thanks ladies!

We're looking for both red and white wines and hope to keep it around $10 per bottle.  Thanks for all the help!

We've had good luck with Pete's Wine Shop. Good deals on bulk buys.
Have you tried them out yet?

The owner of Devine Wines in Mill Creek is fantastic to work with! They're a little wine shop and she just introduced me to a new zinfandel that I am loving. I don't think it's a Washington wine, but I'd bet if you called, they'd be more than helpful.

Thanks for all of your help! I'm planning from out-of-state and hadn't heard of these places.  I'm definitely looking into all of them now!

I second Pete's Wine Shop.  Our guests raved about the wine and champagne we had (that Pete's helped us choose).  They made everything really easy too (they delivered and picked up the extras!)
