I bought my wedding dress over a year ago at a Renaissance Festival. I decided that if I only get to buy one outrageously overpriced dress in my life, I was going to buy somthing that I can get more than 8 hours of use out of. It's spring green with a sky blue underskirt.
It's rather French County Reniassance in style and I want the feel of whatever ceremony we have - be it 4 guests or 40- to be in that style. My biggest problem is finding an outfit for the groom. He owns a kilt in matching colors, but he doesn't really want to wear that if the ceremony is large (more than 5). I'm not happy with rental options in the few places I've looked. They look like costumes, not garb (yes, there is a difference - it's subtle) and I can't find a style of tux that seems to fit the real life Cinderella feel. Also, he's six and a half feet tall, making most rentals tough anyway.
Do any of you other Off-Beat Brides (or Grooms) have a suggestion? The ceremony will likely be outside - we're still hashing out details.
