Just Engaged!

So I am newly engaged and just found this site after hours of googling various wedding venues in seattle. I'm looking to have my wedding next summer, but I have no idea what venues to even begin to look at. Where is everyone else looking or already booked at and what made you fall in love with your venue?

    Congrats and Welcome!

I'm not getting married in Seattle.  I'm getting married in northern Snohomish county at a barn venue.

I booked it/ feel in love with it because it had a fun but still nice/formal-ish feel.  We have the venue from like 9am to 10pm.  It allows for plenty of time to set up, have the ceremony, a LONG reception, and some time for clean up.

It also has outdoor/indoor function, which I think is a big plus in Western WA when weather is never predictable.  I'm hoping for an outdoor ceremony, but there is a back up available if need be.

And finally I love it, because the venue is already somewhat decorated so I don't have to spend a ton on decor.  The outdoor grounds are gorgeous and inside there is a cute vintage/rustic vibe which goes perfectly with our theme.

HTH!  I can't wait to hear more about your big day!

Congrats! Welcome to our board! I got married at Tulalip resort and it was awesome. Very pretty venue, it's indoors though but also a really fun place to party afterwards.
    Good luck!

    Welcome!

We are getting married at Acalia Events... a great place for a smaller wedding. It's on Queen Anne and has a view of the Space Needle. How big are you expecting your wedding to be? Have you chosen a date?

Welcome.  This board is extremely helpful!

I'm getting married at Golden Gardens.  I wanted something (1) affordable, (2) on/near the water, (3) preferably in Seattle, (4) more laid back/us, and (5) preferable where we could bring our own caterer/alcohol. We didn't look at many places 'cause I kinda already knew I wanted Golden Gardens (if not DW in Hawaii), but it just felt right to both of us.  I think the most important thing abou the venue (and the whole wedding) is that it reflects you.

Good luck.  If you have any ideas about what you're looking for -- location, size, feel, budget, etc., these ladies can give you a lot of ideas for venues.  : )

    As everyone else said, congrats!!!
We are getting married at the Edgewater downtown. I checked out half a dozen places in person, but when i walked in to the Edgewater, I knew where I was getting married. Floor to ceiling windows overlooking the water. need i say more?

we are getting married at the farm kitchen in poulsbo next summer.  it is a beautiful venue on an organic farm.   this place was the only one that "called out" to both of us.  we only looked at this place and it was a done deal-our ideal spot!
