We wanted to have a unity sand ceremony, instead of a unity candle. Then the wonderful ladies of this board introduced me to the unity cross. I fell in love instantly!
I definitely want to have the sand ceremony but I would also love to do the unity cross. Do you think it's too much to do both??
Re: Unity Cross or Unity Sand or both??
Of course it is your ceremony and you should plan it to be unique to you as a couple, but if it were me, I'd do one or the other
My knowledge, not that I am correct, but my understanding of the sand is symbolic of the two becoming one.
We have never seen the unity cross at any weddings down here in our neck of the woods and after speaking to some of our friends, neither had they, so it worked out for us. I am sure like many other things though it will soon become more common.
Good luck and let us know what you decide to do. Either way, I'm sure it will be a beautiful day!
And I have never seen anyone have either of these at a wedding. We don't have a layout for the ceremony yet, but we don't plan for it to be longer than 30 mins. I guess we could do them both and just separate them far enough in the ceremony so they won't totally overwhelm our guests. LOL
Thanks ladies!!!
