preparing the field for rain - Praise Report!

Remember the story from Facing the Giants about the 2 farmers who prayed for rain? Only one prepared his field for planting. The other sat inside doing nothing. Well, I'm preparing my field.

I just got my bachelor's degree and decided to keep going to school. I found a masters program 6 hours away that offers Library Science. I applied and have several interviews, however, I won't know until the end of July if I'm in or not. I haven't had a job for the past 3 years. (there's no jobs where I'm at currently - I've looked all over) I prayed about this, and I felt God telling me to move there. So. Next Thursday, I'm moving there. I have no job lined out, I have no idea if I made it into school or not. All I have is $900 and a trailor full of stuff to fill my apartment.   Everyone kept saying how stupid I am for moving out there without a job or anything, but I know God will provide.

I looked at the classifieds tonight, and there's a job opening in the public library. When I visited a few months ago, one of the firsts stops I made was at the library and the director pretty much promised me when she had an opening she'd hire me. We talked for quite some time and she's great. I'm not mad she didn't tell me about the opening, she probably forgot. I'm praising God that there's a job opening in a field that I'd enjoy, that I'm qualified for, and that would begin very soon.

I still don't know about the school (i also applied for a job there, but won't know anything until after they accept me). I'm just so excited. I'll be out there in 8 days, and can apply for jobs and get interviews - so much easier than trying to do that from 6 hours away!

God is so good!!

Wow, that's great! I've worked in public and university libraries since I was 14. I love, love, love the atmosphere, the people I'm employed with, etc. I'm thinking about Library Science just because of how much I love it.

How does this affect things with your FI? I notice your ticker and you're getting married in 4 months...

So glad you're finding ways to get your needs met and are paying attention to the doors God has opened for you!

well, we're i a LDR now (but it's only 1 hour) I'll be moving 6 hours away. So it only changes a bit. I see him now about once a week, obviously that will change, but we talk on the phone every night before bed - I've grown to where I can't sleep unless we talk.

He gets his BS in August and will be going to the same grad school as me starting in January so he'll be moving there with me.

He want to wait until after we're married to live together, but I said he has to have a job there before I'll marry him. (and yes, I will post pone the wedding if he doesn't have a job - sounds harsh, but he promised he'd have a job so I'm holding him to it) I have no doubt that he'll find something - but I know it's hard to find a job when you don't live there.  I know God will provide something for him too. Since he'll be done in August,  he'll have 2 months of whatever God has planned until we can live together in October.

Oh, so you're just going there a few months ahead of him, then? Makes sense, I was just trying to figure out where he fit into the picture ;)

By the way, when my FI and I first got engaged, October 8th was a date we were considering. Part of me wishes we were having a fall wedding still!
