If you could live anywhere in the US, or world, where would you live?

Ooooh, so tough.  As for the US, I really like DC where I used to live.  All my friends are still there, and I really like the job opportunities available there.  As for the world... I spent some time in Vienna and loved it.  I also love Vancouver.

I really love living in Portland.  However, if we could live absolutely anywhere (and take my family with me, cause I'd be too homesick without them), London and Tuscany would be in the running as well.

Somewhere super outdoorsy .. My FI would be in heaven... and it would be great for the kids.

DH and I joke about going to live in Monacco.  Neither of us knows French though.

In the US, within 3 hours of a beach and somewhere that doesn't get too cold.  We want to end up in a suburb Richmond VA, but I don't want to live IN the city.  I hate living in Columbia.  We're close to places to eat, but parking is horrible, and all the shopping is so far away.

Northwestern North Carolina up in the mountains.  As much as I love southwest Virginia, the Appalachian Mountains in NC are my absolute favorite place.

I don't know too much about different state laws that would dictate my decision but I'd pick Florida or California purely based on weather.  I'd love to not have to shovel and have pool access year round!

I just got back from a vacation to Hawaii, so it would definitely be Maui. It was so awesome.
