NWR- dermatologist appointment

I've got a suspicious mole and I finally scheduled an appoint with a dermatologist. I'm a little bit of a worrier, (ok a lot) and prayers would be appreciated. So would lots of fun posts on here so I will stop looking a Dr. Google. That is not helping.

I will say a prayer.  I'm glad you are going to have it looked at now and if it is anything, they will take care of it for you!

Good for you for scheduling an appointment.  Everyone should get a yearly skin check anyway.

I went in a year ago b/c I had what I thought was a suspicious mole.  All they do is look at it and measure it.  My doc said we could either monitor it or go ahead and remove it.  I had her remove it so I wouldn't worry anymore.  If it is removed, after the numbing agent, you can't feel anything, only a little tugging.  I have a low tolerance for needles etc, so that says a lot!  Then they send it out to have it biopsied.  I'll pray that your appointment goes well.

duckie-- Praying everything goes well and that you will feel at peace while you're waiting to hear something.  Stop looking stuff up!!  My mom nicknamed my cousin's daughter "Webber" in-utero (Webbette after we found out she was a girl) because she was constantly looking stuff up and freaking out about the things that have a 2% chance of going wrong.  Don't be that person.

Haha I always try to "self diagnosis" myself when I have something weird. I was actually successful one time with "snapping scapula syndrom" (yes, a real thing) but other times, I've found things a lot scarier than what I actually had. So much better to wait for what the doctor says...but I understand about the worrying, I am a HUGE worrier!!!

Thanks everyone! And that is a great quote, joes girl. I have managed to give up the googling. 

I also found out the young daughter of a woman who works at my school passed away today. She's been in the hospital for a few days and we've all been praying for her. So I've been praying for her family instead of worrying so much. It's just tragic. She was so young.

I am SUCH a googler, but I haven't been googling lately. Don't do "symptom checker" on any of those medical websites either... (God is watching you... lol!) I'm praying for you, its good that you are getting it checked!!!

I'll be praying for you! Last February, I also had an appointment with a dermatologist to have a mole looked at. They ended up removing it and sending it in for a biopsy and it came back as melanoma...but it was a simple fix! They cut out a bit of bigger cross section of skin, I missed soccer for a few weeks, but now I'm back into the normal swing of things!! And most of the time I don't even remember that it ever even happened! For your sake I hope and pray that it's nothing at all, but even if it is, God will be faithful and He'll bring you through! Keep us posted!!

duckie, I got a mole removed from my neck when I was in middle school (1995-ish) and it ended up being benign, but my doctor told me from that point on that if I thought a mole was suspicious it was better to get it checked and/or removed rather than run the risk of a malignant mole.  Mom has had 2 malignant moles in her lifetime, so I know that I'll eventually have one.  You are blessed to go ahead and get it checked out.  I'm without health insurance since I'm only a part-time teacher and can't afford the out-of-pocket cost for H.Ins., but once I go full-time I will be getting 2 of my moles checked out!

Good luck with your appointment.  Don't be afraid.  "do not fear" hahaha --- God is with you and he knows what the dermatologist is going to tell you before even the dermatologist does, and HE has a plan for you!!! :-)

Weird, i was just thinking this morning that I should get my moles checked. I have so many weird moles, but they've been there my whole life not really changing.  But, I figure I should probably get it checked just to be on the safe side. Thanks for the kick in the butt to call and set up an appointment!

Well, I survived the appointment. They removed two and i have to go back for two more. He said they don't look scary to him, but it never hurts to get them removed anyways. Thanks for the prayers!
