Wedding Woes

Anyone following Dairygirl's story?

Sad ending today. :(Girls I have bad baby news. ;( I'm really shocked. Somehow, even pessimistic me thought things would end up better than they expected.  And this is the second Nest/Bump person to lose a baby at 39w in the last month or so. Another died of a pulmonary embolism shortly after she had her daughter. Ugh.

  • Oh no. I'd been hoping for a better outcome :(

  • What's her story? What led up to this?
  • Yoshi-they knew the baby was going to have problems, just not what kind exactly. It got to a point where doctors were saying "just make the baby comfortable as long as possible", so they didn't think it would live long or would have no quality of life.

Here's her blog:When October Falls Basically, her baby was diagnosed with several birth defects, then a serious chromosomal disorder (that something like 10 people in the world have been diagnosed with).  The chromosomal diagnosis came too late for her to abort, so she was forced to carry to term. Which turned out to be a good thing, because the outlook got a little bit better. But they still didn't know whether the baby would live or die after birth, under what conditions, or for how long.So it's possible that this is for the best, or that it would have happened next week with an outside baby anyway or any number of other things.  I think it's just the one thing they weren't expecting/prepared for, so it feels like one more punch in the gut.
