Ok...I lurk here because I could probably do my job in two days a week and I get bored easily.   I moved to NYC from Boston 2.5 years ago, but am from CT originally.  I work on my MBA part time so I'm taking two classes at night right now.  My only real hobbies are cooking and baking. My wedding is in about 5 months and we're meeting with the venue and the priest for the first time this weekend.  Woo-hoo!

haha Sorry. My birds didn't like it either. I have beebee stories about my FSIL. Or I could share my MIL's moment: My H is half Indian. His mom wanted a big Indian wedding, even though she didn't undstand any of the customs she wanted to do, and H was not interested. Kept trying to make me wear a lengha (skirt, blouse and scarf) to the wedding, which they bought me without taking measurements, and my MIL thinks I wear a x-small. Which I do not. So I flat out refused and pissed her off. She called my mom to complain, and told my mom that my mother was disrespectful. It went downhill from there when my mother told her she was crazy and my MIL said maybe she didn't want her son marrying me. Mom told her to butt out and hung up. That wasn't a very beebee story. But now I remember how much I love my mom.

Been lurking since about April/May. Got engaged in March, married in July. 2nd time around for both of us. Used to work in OB/GYN, but got out when I was sick of dealing with the public all day long. People generally suck. Now I'm a software tester for a large company. Corporations suck too!I'm from the Philly area and currently basking in the glow of the Phillies going to the World Series again.Love animals, have 2 cats (that's my boy Sake in the sig pic), and one day I hope Mother Nature gets sick of the disease called Humans and wipes us all out, giving the earth back to the animals. I was hopeful H1N1 was it but sadly it seems not to be. kthxbai

Wow, yeah I can understand culture shock.  FI wanted to move there a few years ago (to work for Countrywide - sooo glad that didn't work out), and I had never been there.  We went there for a week, and I was not a fan...I'm sure I could've adjusted but it was just so different.  We stayed in Scottsdale and I felt like I was driving through one huge mini-mall the entire time.   And thanks, HE.

That is incredible. And I have to say, her pro pics did a nice job of highlighting the positive angles.
