S/O talking to your parents about the big M

Would you ever buy your child (let's assume they're 15 or 16) a personal toy, or paraphernalia for masturbation?

Hmmmmm.  That's a tough question.  Scary.I would say YES now, but hell if I know what would happen if those things actually came about.

No- but mostly because it would creep me out. They can find their own way to get one if they so choose.

Yea, that's a hard one for me too. Being in the position I'm in, I wouldn't for LS because well we're not related and that would be creepy and weird, but my own kid? I might buy them a playboy or a romance novel or something. That's hard to say. You don't want to oversexualize them, but then again you don't want them running out to try sht out with other kids because they can't talk to you about it.

I'm not sure I can answer this.  Too much depends on the kid, the reason, the age, etc.

No, I wouldn't.  I would talk to them about it and I might purchase some age appropriate books, but I wouldn't buy a toy for them.  I have no issue with masturbation as a topic of conversation for a teenager, but I think moving on to a dildo or some other toy is an adult sexual decision and I don't consider 15/16 adult enough for that.  While they might do it on their own and I might not know, I wouldn't encourage it.Also, I think they should be able to get themselves off w/out any toy help first and foremost.  Weird, probably.  But if you can't make yourself happy with your hand, there's probably something else that needs to be examined before moving onto a toy.

See, I guess I figured they've already figured out that concept if they're coming to me and asking me about toys, etc. Maybe I was just an early bloomer.

In all honesty, if my 15 year old came to me asking for a vibrator, I'd be asking if they'd tried it the old fashioned way first.  I think that "kids" get such an idea of what being sexual is from television that sometimes they think they need "item X" in order to do it.  So, that's why I said that. But even if they had figured it out, I still wouldn't buy them one.  I'm perfectly comfortable with the idea that some things are for adults, just because.  And that's one of them.  And until you're old enough to get it for yourself, you can't have it.

I don't know. I'd probably take her to the store and have her buy it herself while I covered my eyes and handed over the credit card, but actually buying it for her would be weird. Can you even imagine ever masturbating with a gift from your mom? Ewww.

Well I'm officially ded. Now I'm thinking about once they get home and the daughter just kind of is shuffling from side to side with a bag in her hand, her eye at her bedroom door, and Mom trying to think of an excuse to leave.
