FWIW, I looked LONG and hard at all of the various online backup tools just a couple of months ago. Carbonite got a lot of well-deserved crap during the Rush Limbaugh/Sandra Fluke thing, and I was going to bail because of it. But it turns out the CEO of Carbonite is a donor to blue candidates and causes, and, imo, the service really did offer the best value for the money. (And, though they handled that terribly, they have long been advertising on ALL kinds of radio, including NPR, which is where I heard about them in the first place.)

I'll also say I had to use the full restore feature after our computer died in September, and it was a very smooth and painless process, which is another huge reason I stuck with them instead of changing.
