Wedding Woes

How was the weekend?

Ours was pretty good.

Friday, our neighbors came over for dinner.  We always have fun with them.

Saturday, I woke up really early and went downtown with my mom and sisters for the Komen Race for the Cure.  I got a little emotional b/c of what's going on with my friend A.  I didn't expect that.  In a crowd of 40,000+ people, I did manage to run into some friends of mine.  I was very happy to see them.  Sat. night, we went to Dave and Buster's for DH's friends birthday.  We had fun and it was nice that we could take the kiddo.  He had a blast, of course.

Yesterday, I went grocery shopping and then not much else.  I was pretty tired, so I took a nap.

I can say that DH and I have been growing a lot in our communication, which is great.  We don't fight near as much as we used to and that's refreshing to me and him.

Ours was pretty good. DH and I were supposed to go out to dinner on Friday night, but he fell asleep on the couch at 6:45, so I went out by myself to get a change of scenery.

I treated myself to CPK and frozen  yogurt before coming home and falling asleep while watching Shrek the Third.

It rained the entire weekend and I only left the house twice. A food run on Sat, and church on Sunday. I did clean the house for my party on Friday.

H, I cleared out the ol' dvr, because Lifetime was lacking.

Oh! I did watch Drag me to Hell, about the gypsy that puts the curse on a chick that wouldn't give her an extension on her foreclosure. Wow at that fight scene in the car. Old lady kicked some butt.

we're trying to get our house ready to market, so spent a lot of time this weekend on cleaning / organizing. I did what i could but with being tired and (all-day) m/s, I spent a lot of time on the couch.

DH has been awesome, helping me out and getting the house ready. He went to Clash of the Titans yesterday morning and he said it was good. While he was gone, one of our contractors showed up unannounced. I was PISSED and tore the guy a new one. Who shows up unannounced at 11am on a Sunday morning? I was laying in bed, queasy, trying to relax, and this asshat is walking around our house knocking on all of the doors - for like 5 minutes straight. I was just going to ignore whoever was outside, but the dogs were going crazy, so I finally went down to see who was there. I let the guy come in to see where they had spilled paint on the carpet but told him that he needed to come back at 10am MONDAY to clean it or I wasn't letting him in the house. I then called the company and left them a message on how unprofessional they were, and I'm going to give them a poor review with our insurance company as well. We wrote a letter that we'll be submitting to their company and the insurance company that explains all of the issues  (showing up unannounced, not showing up when they are supposed to, and taking more than 2x the quoted time for a job) and provides dates.

If my suppliers at work pulled this type of crap (showing up unannounced, not showing up when they are supposed to, and taking more than 2x the quoted time for a job,) our plants would be throwing a fit I wouldn't be hiring them any more.

Ours was good. Family cookout friday, hanging out with friends Saturday (plus driving around enjoying the sunshine), and Sunday was spent getting the house clean. It was nice. No bitching from FI, just, "Hey, what else can I do?"

    Also: lots of bcbc.

Friday night I met up with my uncle and his girlfriend for dinner in Orlando. It was wonderful getting to spend some one-on-one time with them. That NEVER happens.

Saturday I moped around the hotel a little because I was sad that Nico was sick and couldn't gtg. Then I got a massage at the spa and hung out by the pool until it was time to go to the airport. After my trip home from hell, H bcbc-ed me up nicely and it was good to be home.

Sunday we hit the flea markets and found a street fair. There is no better way to be welcomed back to NYC than with a street fair.

Had a nice evening. H was holed up in the office for a while taking a pre-test for the GMAT course he starts tonight. I played Super Mario Wii and then we vegged together.

Got a nice wake up this morning when H decided to ravage me again.

Saturday morning we dropped off Eva at my mom's and headed to Pittsburgh for a wedding of one of DH's old work friends.   We got to Pittsburgh in record time, and before we were able to check in at the hotel, so we had lunch at the fancy hotel restaurant - - which sucked.
Then we checked in and got ready for the ceremony.  I ended up wearing the teal dress.   I was f-ing freezing so I had to wear a little gray cardigan sweater over it, whcih looked pretty dorky, but was the only thing I had packed that would work.
The ceremony was at a really pretty old Catholic church.  The bride looked pretty, but her dress was meh.
We went back to the hotel and chilled for a while before the cocktail hour started.   Food was good and there was an open bar.  They had a signature cocktail - - a caribbean martini - vanilla vodka, coconut rum and pineapple juice.   Just a few of my favorite things.   I guzzled down quite a few before dinner.
Dinner was really great.   Although for some stupid reason, neither one of us selected steak.  It looked awesome.  Oh well.
We did some dancing, ate some cake, drank some dranks and then called it a night.  Went back to our room and had some BCBC and then crashed.
In the morning we got up and went swimming, ate breakfast, then headed out.   Made a couple stops on the way back to Columbus, including a stop at Cabella's in West Virginia.   I can't recall the last time I've seen so many mullets.   Good times.

Picked Eva up from my mom's last night and she was so sick.   Took her to the Dr. this morning.  She has a cold and possible conjunctivits in her eyes.   Swell.

The weekend was pleasant.  Friday I went out for after work drinks with a few co-workers.  As usually happens, it turned into dinner.  I got to take home the extra baked crab dip.  Saturday we got the new light/ceiling fan installed.  H was very excited because he won't be hitting his head anymore.  Sunday we grilled.

    Nothing exciting.

Saturday - more unpacking, which is my life for the foreseeable future.  Sunday - yard work.

My sis and I did watch all of Season 1 of "Slings and Arrows" on DVD Saturday and Sunday nights, which was nice.
