Haha, the last time this was on tv, my husband was all about coupons.  That lasted about a week.  I can't wait for the new episode to come on!

I did sign up for the Crazy Coupon lady emails, but I do not use it.
CVS is supposed to be good for couponing and extra bucks.
I need to invest some time in couponing.

I am not convinced that stockpiling like that actually saves anyone money.  How is that different from hoarding, really? If it takes over your home and your life..?  I'm not watching the show, so maybe there's something I'm missing. And I do shop at Costco for things like toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, etc.

There was a woman from Philadelphia-- she seemed pretty sane.  She only purchases what she needs.   Another woman rotates her stuff often, so the stuff that expires first is in the front.

The first woman they featured, however, is a total nutbag.  She's that lady who bought 150 Butterfingers.  She is running out of room and still continues to buy more.  I think she has enough toilet paper to last 40 years.

The dude they are showing now has enough deoderant to last the average human 150 years.  Seriously?  What the hell are you doing with 150 years worth of pit cream?

The cereal that guy bought was crazy.  I don't think people should completely stockpile for life, but I see the benefits of couponing.
The Philly lady was funny, she at least helped other people in the store too.

I empathize, Hil.  The Phillies game tonight is a good one...but DH overtaking the room preventing me from watching boh crappy shows on TLC and the video I need to show in English class tomorrow but haven't gotten to preview yet is killing me.  Not to mention Mac, who is very perturbed by the bicycle pump and is huddled against me on the couch...

By the way, speaking of crap on TLC - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8jeuYMHX9Y

<div>How did you manage to add and extra "i" to my name?  And no, I definitely did not put this on.  I'm only tolerating it because I know I won't be able to find anything on tv.</div>

You get an extra i because Mac is practically laying on top of me and I can't type :P  Not that I ever really pay attention to what I am typing.

Ok, I didn't get that lady.  Her total was just over $100 but about $23 of that was mustard that her husband doesn't even like  (60ish bottles * 39 cents each).  I'm all for stocking up on fairly useless stuff if it's FREE but 39 cents is still too much to spend on something you're not really going to use.

I thought it was crazy that she wanted to leave 1 mustard on the shelf.  I understand it doesn't go bad, but still.  I don't like mustard either.

This lady coming on now seems more like a hoarder

LRM - Amer spelled my name wrong, not you :)

I bought 4 2-packs of knit gloves at Target.  They're in a bag waiting for next fall/winter to be donated somewhere.  They were like $0.38 each... so I got 8 pairs of gloves for under $2!  No coupons here though... just clearance.  Does that make me a hoarder?  LOL
  • edited December 2011
Target and Kohls have great clearance racks.
Hil - I don't think 8 gloves makes you a hoarder because if you're like me, you'll lose at least half by the end of next winter.

HAHAHA.  Sad - I see a typo and just assume it's me.  I think this makes it official - it's a stressful week at school and my self-esteem is lagging.

And you are only a hoarder if you buy nough gloves to last you 150 years,  ie longer than any one human being could ever live or have cold hands for.

I can teach ya'll how to work Rite Aid and CVS.   I do have to admit my linen closet has about 5-10 things of deoderant, body wash and tooth paste that were all free at any given time.  But I think 5 is an okay number, 500?  Not so much.
  • edited December 2011
PS I havent kept up with my blog at all lately, but this is some of the coupon stuff I was doing on a regular basis.   I am going to start it back up soon though, $$ is tight!

I would not be happy if somoene called me to stand in line with them to save them $10.
I would not be a pretty sight if I was in the grocery store for 5 hours.
