This is what one of my favorite coupon bloggers has to say about this show:

we coupon.  But we do it the smart way.  We match the coupons the sales circulars, on what we are going to use- so if we have 12 coupons for hot dogs, which we know we are going to use a ton of and can freeze, and they are on sale, then we will buy for a great deal.  But we don't buy 150 butterfingers or 60 bottles of mustard.

We also shop much more at BJs than at Costco with our Coupons, since BJs accepts Manf. Coupons, while Costco does not.  That means you can combine them on top of the BJs coupons.  With things like baby items, especially formula and diapers, I have friends who have saved a ton this way.  Also, don't forget that many stores in this area double coupons up to a dollar.

If you really want to get into it, there are database websites that will match up coupons that are valid with the sales circulars for the week.  That's what we do.  We also go out and buy 2-3 (sometimes 4 if I discover the coupons are really good for that week) Sunday papers.

Some other tips to get coupons for free:
Ask your family and friends to keep their Sunday inserts for you.
Call the newspaper company and ask them what they do with their left over Sunday inserts, especially Coupons.
Call the actual manufacturer- many times, they will send coupons directly to you.
    Go online.

*Disclaimer- I grew up having to save money, so my mom was a couponer, so I grew up with it, and for me, it's natural.  It allows us to do other things and have money for other things- it's basically free money!

I love this show and it inspired me to start couponing myself but def not to the extent that these people do it.  I like workin the CVS extra bucks to my advantage.  My best haul so far is a $140 purchase down to $44 plus $15 of extra bucks (money I can use at cvs for future purchases).

However I've been so busy lately and haven't couponed for a week.  it's so time consuming!  But it's definitely more depressing to go back to paying full price once you get a taste of what you could be saving.
