What are some unique table names you have seen at weddings? I was thinking of doing historical events ( im a huge history nerd) on my wedding date (April 21st) but no luck on getting 18 events.

Could you come up with 18 important dates in the history of you and your FI? Off the top of my head I can think of your birthdays, the dates you met, had your first date, first kiss, got engaged but you could also include things like graduations, first jobs, pets adopted together, etc. This might only work if you don't have a lot of dates that overlap.
For our wedding, we named all of our tables after locations in a game both DH and I love and play together. You could look to hobbies you share or things you both like. I've seen tables named after favorite books or songs, candies and places the couple had traveled, together and separately.
You could do important dates in you and your FI's life. Like the first time you met, first date, birthday's, etc. Or if you wanted to put a little more time into it you could label each in order 1-18 and write what you and your FI were doing when you were that age.
I love that idea! I have seen names of places/dates that are special to the couple. If you can't find enough historical events for your wedding date, maybe include famous historical people or something along those lines.

I think this would be cute. And for your family tables use things like your parents/grandparents anniversaries.
Just because you saw it on Four Weddings, doesn't mean it's a good idea.
My Fiance and I are naming out tables after motorcycle manufacturers... there is a suttle hint of motorcycles to our theme as he loves to ride. Good Luck! History sounds like it could be very intersting and take many turns/themes.
We are doing traditional numbers, but we are having pictures of us at that age. It has been so much fun to go through the pictures with everyone and I'm sure the guests are going to have a blast looking at our pictures.
We’re using the names of loved ones who’ve passed away and can’t be there. I do think it would be a good idea to put a number along with the name, that way it is easier for guests to figure out where that table is. Although, I was considering doing a cute diagram of where the tables are. Decisions, decisions.
Thanks for the ideas. Although i like the important dates in our relationship/important places ideas i cant seem to make it to 18. I think we might just do the pictures of us at those ages. I guess i have to go through the photo albums tonight to make sure we have pictures from every age.

I bet if you think hard enough you can come up with 18, we did. We wanted numbers so they could be numerical order, just not 1-25, KWIM.
We did the list below:
1 - # of times FI was in trouble with the law 2 - # of pets we owned 4.0 - my grade point average in college 5 - # of states we've been to together 13 - day of the month we met 23 - FI's favorite model on "Deal or No Deal" 25 - my favorite # & why 27 - # of months we'd been together before the wedding 35 - FI's sleep number 55 - my sleep number 65 - temperature we keep our house at 93 - Ave we live on 99 - % of the time I am right
That is all I can think of off the top of my head right now, I hope maybe it can give you some idea if you want to go that route. I know we didn't have pictures for all the ages.
We are gettng married in Boston, MA and its in a library in an old house so the tables will be named after famous Massachusetts authors/poets - ie. Hawthorne, Cummings, Alcott, Thoreau etc etc. = ) (i'm a huge book nerd!)
Instead of all Historial happenings on the same day as the wedding, why not just historical events in the town/state your from?
We are getting Married September 21, 2013 and I love fall colors so the theme of my wedding is all "Fall" like colors, centerpieces, favors, etc. I was considering naming each table after a different Fall Tree. Any suggestions?

Depending on your theme you could name all the tables "love" but in different languages.
