HELP!!

Normally I don't post on these things....I just read and get great ideas (good job ladies!)....But I have a problem! I'm trying to figure out the reception dances and here's where I'm stuck: My father is not invited to the wedding, so the whole idea of the Father-Daughter dance should be thrown out the window (great for me!) right? But I wanted to somehow include my mom. My fiance and I decided to do a dance with him & my mom and me & his dad. So far it's been impossible to find a song for it, though, that's not too slow or too fast or too mushy, etc, etc. Any ideas?

Re: HELP!!

  • Is your FI's mom going to feel left out?You could dance with your mom.  It's nontraditional but plenty of brides do it.  Or you could dance with another male that has been in your life, like a brother or uncle or something.I Hope You Dance by Leann Womak or My Wish by Rascal Flats are both good parent dance songs.  Also What a Wonderful World is a good all around song.

  • At the last wedding I attended, the bride danced with her mom (as well as her dad, first). Very sweet moment. I think it was to either "Wind Beneath My Wings" or "Because You Loved Me." "In My Life" by the Beatles is also popular and pretty up-tempo and non-mushy. "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts is also nice. Maybe "You've Got a Friend" by James Taylor would work for you.
