DJ's

Does anyone have any recommendations for DJ's that are budget friendly? Also, what kind of questions did you make sure to ask before booking?

My wedding is in the Lehigh Valley, so no recommendations, but I asked a few important questions: 1. How do you feel about blow up props? (I don't want anything close to this) 2. Do you coordinate with the photographer/caterer so that everything will run smoothly? (this was more of a statement than an actual question)3. What's your rate if we decide to extend the reception? 4. Do you have lighting? 5. If we have a song we want played, can you add it to your music library? general stuff like that.  We went to a wedding once where the dj was kind of.... kooky.  And it just made it awkward whenever he introduced anything, so we wanted to make sure that we really got a feel for the dj before we booked.

Lasst year I attended a Beef/Beer fundraiser and Rich Finn was the DJ.  He basically played good dance music and didn't do a whole lot of talking.  Everyone seemed to be having a good time. The organizer told me he was under $700.00.  No website on his card.  215-256-0570

Try either Schaffer Sound or Tom Barrett.  I have heard pretty good things about both of these, from both this and the DE board.  I think I have only seen one not so great review, for Schaffer, but everyone else seems to be pleased with the service and with pricing.Email me at msbriarrose@gmail.com for more info, including prices.

I used Jason from Schaffer Sound. He was awesome - did very little talking and had a great feel of the crowd. I heard that he is no longer there, but I know others have had good experiences with Schaffer's other DJs. I think they priced me around $700-800 for 5 hours.

I'm using Schaffer sound. The price is great, I've heard great things from 95% of people, and they have been really good at getting back to me with any question/concern that I have. Really glad I went with them.
