Chair covers WITHOUT a sash?

Hi Everyone,

Has anyone been to a wedding that used chair covers, but no sashes? I feel like the organza bow is just not me, and I would rather just use the covers to still give a classy feel to the decor. What does everyone think about this? Will the chairs look naked?

  • I have not... but i think it's a great idea! I agree that the bows can sometimes look stuffy or dated depending on your style, and I think just clean and simple covers will let the chairs blend into the rest of the seanery. I'm sure there are other beautiful things going on at wyou wedding that you would rather your guests be looking at than chairs.

  • I had chair covers with no sashes.  (I have a fierce, unexplainable aversion to chair sashes.)  :)  I thought it looked fine.

  • While the chairs won't look naked, many chair covers slip while guests are seated.  This makes the chairs uncomfortable for the guests.
  • I'm not sure if Magdala is recommending not to go with chair covers but I've never really heard or have had that problem.

OP-I did chair covers with no sash and it worked out fine.  Also saved us $1 for each chair!

Not sure if you can really tell in this picture or not but it worked out fine for us!

  • I was planning on doing this too.  Bows don't fit my personality.  I'm going to my venue at the end of January to see how the covers look with no bow, but I think it wil be fine.

  • I am having chair covers without a sash. I don't like the sash and I don't feel it's necessary.

My chair covers dont have a sash.. they do tie in the back but it is just a small tie, not like a huge sash.
Instead the rentals come with free flowers (of your choice) that you tuck into each tie.
So it will look like this.

  • You know if the venue has nice chairs you don't even need chair covers.  My venue had nice chairs and so no chair covers are needed.

If you have a nice large centerpiece or table decoration, it will take the attention away from the chairs.  In fact I find that chairs with sash look too "busy" if you have a large centerpiece.  Chairs with sashes only look better if the centerpieces are small.

Just play and compliment your deco, good luck!
