So my FI and i stumbled across this location today and we are both in love with it. I swear it spoke to my soul :P
Problem is that its part of a local store!
The store is two floors, and about 10k square feet. Its pretty big. The bottom floor is a normal eclectic shop carrying all sorts of things. The top though, the top floor is this amazing old wood floor, with exposed brick walls and old gears/machinery in the back. You come up thru the floor via a wood stair case. Its an industrial yet rustic loft feel. No walls, all open and lots of windows.
It pretty much blew my mind.
One concern is im rather shy about talking to the owner. Ive met her before, she is rather nice. But this is a business that i am definitely assuming does not regularly rent out its upper floor. With the town i live in, its not difficult to imagine them allowing us to go ahead with this, though i still think its a 50/50.
My other huge concern, even if she said sure lets do this, its pretty much an empty space and i havent a clue how that works with bar service, caterers etc, or even laws and insurance?
i figure it cant hurt to ask, but i was wondering if anyone could offer advice/how you work an open space/what to expect with the vendors
or does this sound like something i should just let go of?
