I wasn't exactly sure where to post this, so kindly direct me to the right place if you think I should be somewhere else.. lol. But I have faith you ladies will have at least a few ideas : )
I am trying to decide what would be a good and appropriate time to have my wedding/reception. We want to do a full meal (it'll be a buffet, so nothing hugely fancy) and have dancing, etc... The reception site will be about 20 minutes from the church where we will be getting married.
I am going to be getting married right in the middle of a semester at school, so FI and I will not be going on a honeymoon immediately, altho we would like to go to a hotel and spend what's left of the weekend together.
So, we were thinking that an early wedding and a light lunch (or an afternoon wedding and an early dinner?) would be perfect for us. But, we don't know what our guests would think of that... Are people going to want to come to a wedding like that, have lunch and go home. Maybe I am thinking too hard, but mid-afternoon doesn't seem like "party" atmosphere. Am I just crazy? Or do you think that this would be ok? Should I just suck it up and have my wedding late afternoon and run late into the evening?
Any ideas would be much appreciated!
