My fiancee and I are planning to get married on the beach in South Carolina (we're from Indiana). We know that the majority of guests will not be able to attend the SC ceremony/reception so we are planning on doing a reception at home too. My question is would it be acceptable to do a formal dinner reception in SC (with no dancing or any of the major wedding traditions) and wait to do the big, traditional reception at home. Or is that rude to the people that do make the trip out? We go back and forth because we are definitely serving those that come to SC a nice dinner, but didn't want to waste money doing two BIG receptions. And we don't want to waste the time of those that attend the actual ceremony, yet we want to make those that cant afford the trip feel included. Any suggestions or thoughts? Please be honest!
Thanks!
