Snow Cones

Where I am from there is a really popular snow cone shack that everyone knows about. I was thinking about renting them for an hour during the cocktail hour (which is also during a turnover, so it will be an hour) to waste time. Do you think this is to trashy or cheesy?

I think it'd be fun, especially if it's a local thing people love.
  • Do you get a spoon to eat them with?  As long as you do, then I say go for it.  I would be wary of trying to eat a technicolor snack in lovely clothing without any kind of silverware.
  • I also think it would be a great late night snack.

Maybe I'm a stick in the mud, but I really don't like sweets before dinner. i agree with others that it would be an awesome late-night snack tho -- maybe the last hour of your reception?

  • They  would be unlimited smalls with spoons. I dont think the place would come at 11 to 12 for the last hour but i could ask. I was thinking about doing this with a lot less food during the cocktail hour to save money.
  • This seems like it would be more appropriate after dinner, or later in the evening.  Cocktails and snow cones just don't go together.

If that's your concern, you can offer wine and beer only, with maybe a few signature cocktails, instead of a full bar.  But whatever alcohol you offer, you'll never be able to control how much people drink.
