Picking an appetizer

Hi all,

We are trying to pick the food to try at our tasting next week.  The venue sent us a huge list to choose from and I'm trying to narrow it down to what we want to try.  I'm going through the appetizer list now and have eliminated a lot of choices but am really torn between the ones listed below.  I would love to get some outside opinions on what sounds good...what would you choose from the below list as an appetizer?

Tomato Napolean (Layered slices of red & yellow tomatoes, buffalo mozarella, and basil leaves)
Vegetable Tower with goat cheese mousseline, arugula & basil oil
Feuillette of wild mushrooms & asparagus
Asparagus with morels & chanterelles with mache & sherry vinaigrette

Ooh, yum. Your caterer sounds great.  The two I'm most intrigued by are the Tomato Napoleon and the Vegetable Tower.

I love asparagus but I didn't understand what any of those other foods were in the description

Another vote for the first two.  I love tomato and mozz stacks.  While the mushroom and asparagus ones sound tasty to me, as well, I think mushrooms (and to a lesser extent asparagus) are less likely to be crowd pleasers.

Also voting for the first two - because I love the way the sound, but also because I don't love mushrooms.

lol the first one is caprese salad and is pretty universally liked. do they put any olive oil or balsalmic vinegar/reduction on it?
for the last 2 i personally LOVE mushrooms but those are pretty strongly flavord ones. mushrooms are polarizing-either loved or hated-so i'd probably choose the first 2 right off the bat unless i knew that my guests loved mushrooms.

Thanks for the input, everyone!  I think we are going to taste the first two and a salad and decide.  I agree, the mushrooms might put a lot of people off.

Thanks again - I might also post my hors d'oeuvres, entrees and desserts to get some opinions, too, if that's ok!
