Dollar Dance Shots

Re: Dollar Dance Shots

  • I'm from the Pittsburgh area and am getting married in State College, PA.  We are doing a dollar dance and all the weddings I've been to have had shots for dollar dances!  We are thinking of doing Southern Comfort for the guys and Tequila Rose for the girls.  I would definitely pick something that isn't going to stain your dress in case people come to dance with sticky hands.
  • Where are these people from?  It is completely normal to have 2 shots for the dollar dance!!  Not tacky at all.

[QUOTE]Thank you all who have actually given me some advice rather than your opinions of what you think should be done at a wedding.  Let me retract my statement about it being a PA thing, it must be  PITTSBURGH thing. Again ladies, your wedding is your wedding, my wedding is my wedding... lets not be arrogant and maybe a little more respectful towards others.

Just stop generalizing. I grew up in Pgh and went to undergrad there as well. IT NOT A PITTSBURGH THING!!! I went to too many weddings to count there and never never never once saw a DD nor shots. A wedding is a nice affair. Don't cheapen it by having trashy activities.
  • Thanks for posting. I was wondering what to serve for our bridal dance shots too. It's not trashy. It's tradition. It's as Pittsburgh as a cookie table, and I hope yours was great. What did you end up going with (seeing as you posted this 3 years ago but it was the first thing that came up in my google search)?
  • Why can't you just do shots and dancing without taking money from your guests? Why is it such a foreign concept that your guests should not open their wallets at a party you are throwing???

  • Why resurrect a 3 year old post?
People are probably searching the boards for topics and then posting without realizing how old it is.  I'm sure that's nothing new.  It's just with the new format, we see it.   I thought I read you could change your view to sort by thread creation date, not replies.
  • I like caramel apple shots. 50/50 green apple schnapps and either baileys irish creme or butterscotch schnapps. Either variation is good!!!
  • I lived in Pittsburgh for 8 years. The cookie table is a Pittsburgh thing..  tacky dollar dances are not a Pittsburgh thing.
  • Why resurrect a 3 year old post?
For real.  This thread has been brought from the dead 3 times.

This OP has already had the dollar dance, drank the shots and spent the money.  And it's still trashy.
  • Thanks but skipping the dollar dance is not an option nor not doing shots. Its pretty traditional where I come from.
"Pretty traditional" doesn't make it "not an option" or polite.  Skip it and do the right thing.
