Reception Menu Help...
We are getting married in Hawaii, but having a reception once we get home.... We are on a VERY TIGHT BUDGET, and we are trying to be mindful of every detail... Our reception or "Wedding Celebration" is going to be somewhat informal, and in a Church sanctuary, set up with tables, decorations and such... However, we are having a hard time coming up with a menu... at first we were contemplating sandwiches, and side dishes... but that was going to cost WAY TOO MUCH.... then we talked about just finger foods/appitizor type foods, but again, once we figured out pricing, it was not much less expensive.... My mom came up with an idea of having maybe 3 different types of soup (ie. Tomato Basil, Italian Wedding, and Loaded Potato) and 2 kinds of salad (Garden, and Ceasar), and rolls...... I think this may work.... It is a variety, so the guests will be able to chose what they want, yet it is simple and not TOO costly.... it is also enough to fill them up, yet not be a full meal, since the reception would be held around 1:30-2pm.... What are your thoughts???
