Ok, so all of my vendors, other than the videographer, are friends OR family who are giving us their services as wedding gifts. The venue where we are having our reception is requesting Certs. of Insurance from ALL the vendors. I get that they don't want to guests to trip over equipment and get hurt and then sue the venue, they basically want to cover their asses. However, my photographer, being a close friend from college, is not an LLC and her homeowners insurance (who insures her equipment) told her she doesn't need one to work at a venue. Additionally, it would take over a year and $500 for her to get one. Is the venue asking toooooo much for all the vendors to provide COI's? They even want one from the florist, who is my soon to be cousin in law, and is doing all of the arrangements as our wedding gift. I had to call the manager and talk him into understanding that she is a family member and it would be like me going and doing the flowers myself. Am I crazy? I think I just need to be calmed down, but both my DJ and Photographer have never had to provide these before. Has anyone else come across this issue?? Help please!
