Disposable Cameras

I already booked a photographer that will cover our entire reception but i was debating whether or not i should purchase disposable cameras for the guest tables. Has anybody done this? do you actually get good pictures from the guests?

Nah, don't do it - this fad died when people started having digital cameras.

If you want, you can set up a Photobucket or Snapfish account instead.  We put out cards that had the username and password for the account.  People could upload their wedding pics there instead.

Not a lot of people used the account, honestly.  Instead, we saw many good photos on Facebook and pics were shared on email.

Ditto PP. Disposable cameras take worse pictures than some Smart phones nowadays. The pics you get wouldn't be that high quality, and many people will bring their own cameras and share the photos electronically somehow after the wedding day. I think it'd be a waste of money.

Thanks Ladies. That's right. i completely forgot about social media and smarphones. lol. Disposable camera idea now discarded. i think i have too much time on my hands to come up with craziness like this. haha.

Don't bother spending the money! A friend of mine had a small wedding/reception (maybe 60 guests). She put 2 on each table for a total of 20 cameras,only 3 were actually used. Biggest waste of money and she shas said many times that she regrets putting the money into those when se could've used it on other things.

I've seen some people create personailzed Instagrams ex. "jackwedsjill "or "smithwedding2012". People can instantly share and you could end up with some pretty cool pics!! I think I'm also gonna make some sort of " I spy" game to try to involve my guests more. Can you get a pic of the bride staring at her ring? bride and groom kissing? Or even the groom hugging Grandma? Something like that, I have a long time to plan and research! Thank goodness for Google!!
