The dilema:
My fiance and I are getting married in October of 2012 in New Orleans, where his dad lives. The rest of the family is flying in from all over the country; West, and East Coast. We've found a church for our ceremony in the French Quarter: But now we need to find a location for our reception.
Here is the kicker: We expect 400 - 450 guests at our wedding.
Fiance is Vietnamese American, and his dad (who lives in New Orleans) is a lot of the reason we're having it there; it's important to us that he be able to attend, (along with gramma!). However, this means that he will invite an extra 300ish people to the wedding in addition to our selected 150 friends and family. This is fine: But we are really in a pinch trying to find a location to hold our reception and all its guests, without going broke.
What we'd like: Outdoor, or indoor is fine. Outside catering is not necessary and we aren't particular to the kind of cuisine as long as it's decent. We don't need tons of decorating and extravagance, and it would be extra nice if it were close enough to the French Quarter that our guests could walk (altough that may not be possible). If it's outdoor, it would be nice to have the option of a covered area (I'm not sure what tent rentals go for?) in case it rains. AND we would love to keep it $30 per person (or only a little more).
Any suggestions, or tips would be amazing!!
