My fiancé and I are getting married in my home town which happens to be 2.5 hours away from where he is from. He comes from a very small town where basically everyone from his town would expect & would want to come to the wedding.
My idea was to have a second low-key reception after our wedding to celebrate with those who wouldn't be able to make the drive down (because of kids, elderly, etc.) This would consist of a small pot-luck at a park or at the hall his family owns. To me, I thought it would be a great way to make sure people who wanted to be included could be included... my fiancé doesn't see it the same way...
Is having a second reception a bad idea or a waste? Thoughts?
