The perfect favors for a DW

Hello

Hope everyone is well!

DW favors, any ideas?  I browsed a few sites already...

what are you ladies using?

I am thinking something lightweight that can be easily put in a suitcase, something that wont break from traveling, something that wont get anyone stopped at security/customs, and something that will be useful...

Geesh, I think I just eliminated all the favors I have seen on the couple of sites I browsed. lol

Maybe there is no such thing as the item I am seeking...

Thanks ladies!

Re: The perfect favors for a DW

  • I'm thinking about making personalized beer can koozies, but I'm still having trouble finding inexpensive ones.

We're also getting Grandma Lulu's sand dollar cookies for our out of town bags.
  • We did customized maracas. Everyone loved them, and of course they also went with our theme since we got married in Mexico. No one had any problems with them breaking in travel.
  • Hi!
My wedding is in Mexico this November.  I am going to do a couple things, first I'm buying inexpensive fans from the craft store and tying a green ribbon on the end to incorporate my colors.  The fans will be on each seat for the ceremony.

The other favor we're doing are personalized playing cards.  I think we might give these out as apart of the 'welcome bag' so they can be used the entire trip.  I'm just not sure what else I can put in the bag without making them really expensive.  Just google personalized playing cards, you can put your picture on it, I'm just doing champaign glasses or heats with our name and the date.  I figure it will be something little that people can enjoy on the trip, and will probably take home and use them there.

    Hope I've helped!

  • I'm doing fans with ribbon as well, and I plan to make each guest a CD of some of our favourite island-themed songs with (hopefully) personalized labels.

  • One of the things I'm also doing is customized koozies and the best deal I found so far was www.koozieguy.com. I hope this helps in your search.

  • I haven't decided on favors yet.  One option is to get some local chocolate/pecan/caramel candies from a well-known candy shop at our location.  Edible is always good, and you won't have to worry about repacking it and taking it home since most people will eat it at some point during the trip.

My other idea is to do glass bubble magnets (probably a set of 3-4, since we won't have many people with us) with a map of Savannah on one, a pic of our ceremony site on one, and a pic of a tree-lined path with spanish moss on the last one.  They're small, inexpensive to make, and people can use them when they get home without having them scream "Lisa & Eric's wedding in Savannah on (date)" - no offense to those of you going the personalized koozie route.  lol

For the AHR, I'll make labels for Hershey's miniatures - 4 different Savannah scenes - and package them in clear flat boxes with ribbon.  Very inexpensive, easy to do, and a nice way to incorporate Savannah into the AHR.
  • We're doing small bags of Clark bars, b/c that will be our last name!

  • i found some cool margarita mixes - it comes in a little box shaped like a margarita glass and then you can insert a little umbrella and lime on it (it all came together). a bit of assembly but super cute. were getting married in key west so its key lime margarita mix.. thought it was approrpriate

I'm making favors out of beer bottle caps::

I'm going to make these as magnets. We've been collecting Blue Moon caps (our fave beer!) since we were planning a traditional wedding. I'm going to put a picture of me and FI in one, and an artistic picture of our date in the other, and give them as a pair.
  • We are getting married in Mexico & are giving a picture frame along with a bottle of tequila.
  • Oh wow, thanks guys.  You all have such amazing ideas.  I am so indecisive about everything.  I may wind up having two favors lol

    keep the ideas coming....Laughing
  • we got married in jamaica and we did a couple different favors.  first we gave each room a palm leaf handbag filled with a "survival kit" that included tums, pepto, advil, sunblock, granola bars etc.  my MOH made the labels which corresponded to our color scheme and stapled them over the clear plastic bags.  the palm bags came in handy bc ppl ended up carrying them around the resort and beach rather than lugging around a big purse/bag.  they had personalized photo thank u cards tied on them as well.   also, same as the other ppls, we had ushers hand out palm hand fans wrapped with a ribbon around the handles for the beach ceremony.  for dinner, we ordered finger pencil starfish and tied a ribbon around it with a label that had our names and date of wedding and placed them on each table setting =)

    hope this helps!!
