Makeup - to airbrush, or not to airbrush, that is the question

Morning Ladies!

Getting married in St. Thomas in July - think hot & humid.  I do not wear a lot of makeup AT ALL (I am wearing none right now).  Like many of you (I am sure) I have a fear of looking super fake at my wedding given that I have never met the makeup artist before.

The salon I am going to has a "regular" option & an airbrush option.  Any opinions on what might be better in the heat, and better for a more natural look?  I plan on asking the salon the same question, but thought I'd get some expert advice from you ladies.

Thanks!

I actually made an apt at a salon that didn't offer airbrush. I since changed and paying $35 more for someone to come to my room and will do airbrush. I never had it done but everyone says that's the best way to go for a flawless look and will be great with the Hawaii heat. I can let you know what I think after my May 16th wedding!

  • yup!  I agree with Jenn... airbrush is the way to go.

I wish the resort I was staying at offered it!.  I went to a wedding expo and they were doing free airbrush trials and it was awesome...looks natural and you don't even feel the "foundation" or make up on.

  • My one friend had airbrush for her wedding and it looked amazing... I'm in the same boat, I really don't wear make up but am considering airbrush. I need to check with my hotel to see if they have anyone that offers it...

  • I think airbrush looks a little fake if you do not usually wear make-up. I am the same way with make-up (hardly wear any). The person doing mine is going to give me a very natural look. We had a trial for my wedding shower and I loved it.

Could you maybe try it out somehow ?

  • Go with airbrush. Regular make-up will come off your face during the day. You don't want to worry about that on your wedding day or having to re-apply make-up when you are wearing your dress.
  • Thanks Ladies!  I think I'm going to lean toward airbrushing.  I don't want to be sweating away all day....
