bay area budget

Hey there :)
I'm planning my wedding in the SF bay area for this coming winter and am almost out of places to look! I cant find a cheap venue, that allows catering, and can handle my number (200ish). I really want to be outside for the ceremony, and inside for the reception, with a rustic, intimate feel. Ceremony and reception can be at different places.
ANYWAY, I was just wondering if any of you have had weddings, or know of friends who have had cheap, budget weddings in the bay area.
Thanks a TON!

This is an international board with ladies from all over.  Try posting this on your local board - look at the menu on the left - you may get some help there.  If not, try looking on the WeddingWire website and do a vendor search for ceremony and reception sites.  Good luck!

hey, my childhood was spent in palo alto, but obviously have no idea about venues! i would suggest looking for park facilities that can be rented. those tend to be pretty budget friendly in most cities. check with your local board as well and also look for non-wedding venues. good luck!

Where exactly in the Bay Area are you?  I think if you are closer to SF it gets pricer.  We are in the South Bay so it wasn't too bad.

I would suggest checking out herecomestheguide.com.  The site really helped me when I was looking for my venue.  Good luck with your search.

    Hi Kersti,

I got married at Black Point Battery at Fort Mason in SF.  It was dirt cheap and gorgeous and outside.  Then had the reception in the Golden Gate room next to Greens Restaurant at Fort Mason.  It was pretty cheap too.

The cheapest places I found were through parks and Rec Website.

    hope this helps.

My venue is pretty cheap- the brazil room at tilden park berkeley, but you have to use one of their approved caterers.

Not sure where you are but Heather Farms park in walnut creek is good.  They have gardens and an indoor room.

I'm sure you already know this, since you're from here, but you're pretty brave to be wanting to do the ceremony outside in the winter up here as there is no lack of rainy days.  I would think about how tenting an outdoor area or having to have an alternate location are going to affect your budget when considering a winter outdoor ceremony.
