Am I being ungrateful??

So, I thought for sure I wasn't getting a shower.  My sister is my MOH and is always griping about money.  I actually paid for her dress myself just to shut her up.

One of my friends asked me back in June if I knew if anyone was throwing me a shower because she would love to throw me one...she's not even in the bridal party.  I was honored!  I mention it to my other sister, just to kinda throw it out there.  I hear nothing nor do I have a shower as of yet.  My other sister (not MOH) tells me today, "well your shower is going to be on the 14th".  I am getting married on the 26th!!!  I don't even know if I want one at this point.  The reason she told me is because she lost the list of names and addresses.

I feel as if I am the only one who gives a s**t about this wedding (other than FI, of course).  He even said last night, 'I wish it was just you and me and the DJ.  Oh, and the bar".  lol.

I'm almost embarrassed for people to receive an invite for a shower a week before the wedding!  Who the hell wants to buy me 2 gifts in a (less than) two week period??!!!

Ahhh, I just needed to vent.

Be gratefull...its a good thing...let it go and roll with this one....someone else is making the effort...maybe not the way you would imagine or the way you would expect...but still....its a very nice gesture...congrats on having a shower when you didn't think you were going to get one...your good...I understand the venting...we all have our moments

I wouldn't worry about it too much. My shower is three weeks before the wedding, but that's traditional in my family.

Anyone who has an issue about it being close to your wedding can be upset with the host(s) of the shower.  The date was their choice and not yours.  Most people will understand this.

Don't worry about it!  if you have one great if now who cares.  that's more for folks to spend the day of your wedding day.  

Good Luck!  Plus at the end you are not the one that looks bad your host does.

Well I kind of had the same situation..My wedding is 10/6 amd my shower is tomorrow...Just two weeks away from my wedding.I am not expecting that a lot of people will show up,and thats ok! I went through a moment where I felt like no one cared about throwing me a shower.But I realized throughout this whole wedding process, that not everyone is in to your wedding as much as the bride and groom is.But they dont have to be and they are not expected to throw you a shower.So yes I think you are being ungrateful.Instead you should be thanking them that they have thought of you and is doing it.
