Random Idea

When my mother's side of the family gets together, we always have a bowl of M&Ms on the table during dessert.  I was thinking of doing one bowl for each table at the reception, to be put on the table after dinner.  People can pick at them as the dancing continues.

Would this be weird?  I'd probably put a spoon in the bowl too so that people aren't all putting their hands in and touching everyone else's candy.

I don't want to spend the money for the personalized ones, but I think just fall colors would be cool.

It would probably be about 32 tables.

Re: Random Idea

  • I think its a good idea, but I would put them out at the start. After dinner not many people hang at the table

  • That's really cute, especially if you have a lot of family members who will pick up on the significance. Also, 32 tables? Wow, that's a big wedding!

    </div><div>Very big...</div><div>
</div><div>ETA: Actually, I miscounted.  It would only be 32 tables if everyone who was invited could come!  Still it would be maybe 25-28 tables?</div>
  • I feel you on the big wedding thing. We're doing 24 long banquet tables which will seat 200 guests! We are inviting a little more than that but there are people we are inviting that won't come to the reception in a separate location. 175 ish was just family! I think that would be a great idea! And like PP said just have them there for the whole thing! It can double as the centerpiece which will save you!!!

</div><div>I've got a huge family too, and FI's is normal size but his parents are VERY close with a lot of people...like coworkers and old neighbors (my parents aren't).</div><div>
</div><div>So much for saving on the centerpieces though.  Flowers are ordered and FMIL thought they were too small so she decided to get bigger ones.  She'd NEVER go for not having floral centerpieces...</div><div>
