FI and I regestered at Macy's last November and were very happy with our registry choice (we also registered at Williams-Sonoma as well). However, we were sent several engagement gifts that arrived damaged. Wine glasses arrived completely shattered and fragile items were not packaged well at all (things just thrown in the box). Macy's took the damaged items back without a problem, so we thought that was the end of our troubles with them.
Then I noticed that my Thank You Note Manager on the Macy's website does not work. I've called Macy's customer service multiple times and no one can figure it out. Now that my shower is over, it really would have been nice to use that feature to easily keep track of everything. My bridesmaids wrote down the items I received at my shower, but I think they got a few gifts confused.
Then, we received 4 sets of our everyday dishes in the mail from someone who could not attend the shower. 3 out of the 4 sets had to be returned because of broken dishes. The person who sent those to us also paid extra for "gift wrapping" which just meant that they put it in a nicer box which still didn't prevent it from arriving in pieces.
At my shower, 2 guests came up to me after to tell me that the Mikasa china that they had just given me was broken and that they had ordered it online. I told them not to worry, I've been dealing with the problem for months now. They still felt horrible that I would have to return their gifts for a replacement.
Has anyone else had this much trouble with Macy's? I'm looking for a customer service email on their website to complain. I'm not typically a complainer, but this is ridiculous!
