Sorry this is kind of a long vent. I'm a little over 3 months away from the wedding and seriously considering firing my wedding planner. I picked her because the other planner I was seriously looking at is one of the busiest ones in my area. The company I didn't pick is the exclusive planner for a major venue and has multiple weddings each Saturday. I didn't want to be an afterthought. Too bad the planner I picked is making me feel that way anyways.
When I signed the contract in March she said she would send me a custom planning timeline. Four months and several reminders later I have no timeline. She is technically a month of coordinator but according to her that includes answering questions, recommending vendors and looking over the contracts.
In May, I asked her to recommend and help set up a block of hotel rooms. Most of my guests are from out of town and have been asking about hotels since I sent out STDs. She said no problem and she would e-mail me the list by the end of the week. I gave her a few extra days and nothing. After a few more e-mails, I got a basic list from her assistant in the middle of June and decided to handle it myself.
Supposedly, we have been having issues with sending and receiving e-mails. I'm not a technology idiot. I've added all of their e-mails to my address book and there is nothing in my spam. I find it odd that her some of her e-mails come through. I e-mailed her a week ago expressing my disappointment with how things are going so far. She quickly e-mailed me back asking to set up an appointment to clear things up and get on the same page. I responded with availability through the weekend. No response. I sent another yesterday with updated availability.
Ok so now I need your opinions. Should I wait for her response? How long? (I was thinking tomorrow) Should I look into firing her? Should I meet with her? Her second payment is due on the 27th. I want to make a decision before I lose even more money. I guess I just can't believe someone who came so highly recommended is turning out this way.
