I guess it's not so much afraid of vs. not afraid, but he more actively believes in ghosts than I do. I always say I don't, but I'm also not about to make a big stink about it because that's NOT something I want to find out I'm wrong about, ha. But he much more believes in them and so sometimes gets more superstitious than I will about it.

Oh, actually, a better answer is he's afraid of puppets. BIG TIME. He came with me to see The Sound of Music (one of my alltime favorite movies) and was SHAKING during "The Lonely Goatherd".

I can't think of anything that FI is scared of.  He's not one of those "I can do anything and let me prove it" kind of guys but I've never seen him scared.  The only thing I can think of, which would apply to anyone with children, is if something were to happen with his little girls.  He gets really worried when one of them is sick or hurt.

The only thing I can think of right now.... FI is going to be a basketcase when we get pregnant. I swear I am going to be confined to the apartment, all sharp objects removed. He is certain that something will happen or go wrong. I on the other hand refuse to live with  that sort of fear, and will continue living life as normal (obviously with the appropriate precautions, I am a nursing student, I graduate next april, I know things!). He cracks me up.

fi is afraid of heights!!! he doesn't even have to be doing it if i am doing something he will be like "be careful" like a million times! we were in new Mexico < my brother lives there and we were hiking the caves in bandolier and me my brother and my nephew < who was 6 or 7 > were going all the way to the top - Fi started to but then chicken out and went down with my sister in law< also afraid of heights >  and the baby! so needless to say he hates flying!

add on: ( i forget what the correct abbreviation is) Fi is also afraid i will hurt myself doing things he would not do. i guess i am more of a risk taker but its silly things like walking down a hilll in the park with the dog" be careful do you really think she should go down there... blah blah blah"  actually i think he may be just as worried about the dog as he is me lol

Strangely enough ,wIhile we both grew up on Lake Michigan, and both know how to swim, FI is afraid of drowning. He says he's never had a time where he was distressed in the water and felt he might go under, but he's terrified of it. Sometimes it's a little frustrating: my only activity I can do without injury because of my arthritis is swimming- which I've been doing since a kid and was competetive into college, taught, and was a lifeguard.

He's also afraid of sharks. He hates it when I get so excited for Shark Week (this week) and start watching in nearly non-stop. Thankfully, neither of these fears are serious in the aspect of being "paralyzing". He just avoids both and watches tv in the other room for shark week.

FI is afraid of heights, but only when he is working construction and standing on a wobbly scaffolding or something like that where he isnt strapped in. His fear doesnt extend to roller coasters, etc.

Other than that he isnt afraid of anything and neither am I.

FI is afraid of frogs and is also kind of a hypochondriac. Every time he gets a cut, scrape, small wound, within two days, he claims its infected, or if he gets a cold or sore throat, it's obviously strep. Men and their illnesses...

I really can't think of anything... but FI is a worrier, he worries about EVERYTHING.  I am too, but I've learned the hard way (major tummy issues) that I need to pick and choice what I worry about.

My FI is also afraid of heights.  He is afraid of bats too.  I could careless about them but once he starts seeing them at night, we have to go inside.  He is also paranoid of undercooked meat.

FI is afraid of large fish.  He had a giant (in his words) catfish swim right past his leg while he was little, immediately after his brother finished telling some story about killer fish or something like that.  He won't eat fish and snorkeling is totally not happening.

He's also afraid of salmonella and other food diseases.  He won't touch any raw meat (red meat, chicken, pork, etc) and tells me I'm going to get sick when I eat raw cookie dough.

FI is afraid of heights, but even more so drops. He won't go on log flumes or anything like it with me! They're my favorite type of ride because they're one of the few that doesn't get me motion sick!

I don't know if this is a fear or just that FI has a weak stomach, but he doesn't do well with things like blood, poop (we have a dog and cat), throw up, etc.

He gags when cleaning up after the dog and it is a rare day when FI cleans the litter box. If the dog throws up I usually clean it up b/c FI is a big baby about it and it almost makes him sick. He swears that when we have kids and he has to change diapers that he is going to throw up on our baby lol.

The one real fear I know FI has being such a southern traditionalist is that he won't be able to provide everything he feels necessary for our future children and in some ways me. I work..because I have to but if it were his choice I wouldn't. He doesn't make enough to support us both muchless kids. I think he gets down on himself about that maybe like it makes him feel inadequate..but I want to work anyway...it would be nice to just work because I want to not because I have to though. He loves his job but doesn't make a WHOLE lot. He always questions if he's making the right decision staying when in 6 years he hasn't gotten a raise..he works for the state. He has CDL's and knows if he wants to he could get a truck driving job and almost double his salary but hed be gone all the time. He talks about it all the time wondering because if he stays stuck in the paygrade he's in we'll never be able to afford children as I don't have a good job to make up the difference.

The only thing I can think of is death. Even though he quit smoking two years ago, he's afraid that his lungs are too damaged and he'll die early. Whenever he gets any kind of sore/burn/etc he always asks "Am I going to die?!" Men when they are sick. lol

FI is afraid of roller coasters and waterslides! I love them, but FI can't stand them, he gets sick.

I'm much more afraid of everyday things, like bugs or leaving the door unlocked when we leave, or feeling suffocated.

I think I'm going to say getting physically hurt. FI is very accident prone. I'd consider going skydiving or zip lining or something along those lines but I don't think FI ever would. I don't think he's afraid of trying those things per se just what could happen if it went wrong. He's also afraid of dropping babies. He refuses to hold them. Luckily we don't want kids. I'm a little afraid I'd be the one doing all the work if we did! I'm sure he'd learn quick if we do end up having kids though.

</div><div>My FI is also a worrier.  He isn't really "scared" of a lot, but he stresses over everything.  When he cannot find something he gets really upset and obsesses over it.  He isn't a huge fan of flying (used to throw up before the plane even took off over the anxiety).  He gets airsick so that doesn't help.  I am very proud of him because his airsickness and plane anxiety don't stop him from traveling.  We have flown together 3 times in the last 14 months (NY to San Fran and back, NY to Florida and back and Buffalo to NYC).  He's always done well, even when we had a terrible landing on our way back from San Fran.

FI is afraid of failure and rejection. He is hesitant about looking for a new job even though he needs one because hes afriad he will get turned down for the job. As much as I tell him its part of the process, he just keeps dragging his feet because he doesnt want to be rejected.

FI is afraid of spiders.  Before he goes to bed at night he looks all around the walls to make sure there are no spiders in sight, she also looks around when he enters rooms.  He is scared of them because he was bit by some crazy african spider that got out of it's cage at a science musuem when he was little and had to go to the hospital and then got bit by a black widow spider at his aunts house in texas.
