October 2012 Weddings

Met with our caterer. YUM!

We finally met with our caterer now that clams are in season.  It was so worth the wait!  Amazing clam chowder, a dozen clams, baked half chicken in an olive oil based marinade, homemade chunky coleslaw, and half of a huge sweet potato browned with maple butter (made with local maple) and cinnamon brown sugar.  The chowder was the best part.  Guests that don't like clams with get a salad and steak in place of the chowder and clams with the rest of the sides and chicken.

Since we're having the reception at  golf course we  got to take carts and drive the nearly 10 miles of course to see all the beautiful scenery and picked out a few places to get some pictures- by the lake, the old barn, an abandoned cabin in the woods and a few beautiful holes along the course.  It's so nice that it's carved out of the natural wooded area with no homes around it.  You're just on this huge estate surrounded by nature, deer, and blue herons.  We planned on finding a park to get pictures, but that's totally not necessary now.

While we do that, guests will enjoy a cocktail hour, leave thumbprint leaves on our guestbook tree and play cornhole.  After dinner, dancing, and cake we'll do a smores bar on the huge stone patio overlooking the rolling hills and woods as a late night snack.

I'm so excited!  It feels real now :)
