Possible reaction?

This weekend I went to Hobby Lobby and got some wood pieces to paint that I'm making into gifts for my girls. (They are going to hold pictures/notes, not just be a painted slab of wood.) Anyway, I painted them yesterday and noticed last night that I started getting hives. I woke up this morning with hives over at least 50% of my body! I have no idea if it's some sort of reaction to the wood or paint, or if it has something to do with the pollen count, since I used to get hives because of that when I was little. Either way, it's no fun! I took some Benadryl so hopefully they start to clear up!

Re: Possible reaction?

  • I am the queen of hives . . . unfortunately. I randomly get them from time to time and sometimes they can last for a month or so. It's the worst feeling ever.

I hope you get some relief soon. I feel your pain. Benadryl!!!

  • Hmmm, that's an odd one.  Maybe something the wood was treated with?  I can't imagine you would get a reaction from craft paint (I assume craft paint, you didn't say specifically).

I rarely break out in hives, but my daughter on the other hand...

Anyway, benadryl is a life saver!!  feel better soon!
