Where to Register

I was hoping to get some recommendations on where to register! We have already registered at Bed Bath and Beyond and was looking for at least one more place. We found most of what we needed at BB&B, but are looking for a place with nice sheets, a duvet, possibly some bathroom stuff, an entertainment system and a grill. Thanks so much!

Hi Date Twin! How is the planning going? We just started registering this weekend and did BB&B, Crate and Barrel. Have you thought of Lowes/Home Depot for the grill/accessories?

Have you thought about Amazon?  We registered at Macy's, Crate and Barrel, and Amazon.  Amazon is nice since so many of their items ship for free and you can register for such an assortment of stuff.

I've heard tons of bad things about Target Registry I would avoid them. We're doing BB&B and Crate & Barrel. A friend of mine did Amazon.com and had a ton of just different things that her other registries didn't cover.

We used BB&B, Macy's, and Amazon.  Love the Amazon registry -- we could register for board games, a grill, electronics, even artwork.  It was our most popular registry by far.  It also has the advantage that you can compare the different products' reviews to pick the right one, which is hard to do at other stores.

We also did BB&B, Macys, & Amazon. We liked that Amazon had lots of things that we couldn't get anywhere else. Almost everything at Macys was available at BB&B too.

Thanks everyone! Planning is going great! I took some time off since I felt like we had a lot done- now I am realizing how much more there really is! Happy planning! :)

We registered almost everywhere... Crate and Barrel, BB&B, Macys and Pottery Barn. We started with Crate and Barrel but then I realized BB&B had the same items and folks could use the 20% coupons that always come in the mail. I moved most of the items over to the BB&B registry. I would not recommend Macys due to some problems we had returning things at the Tysons II store (they said we needed an appointment to return things, which we know is not true). However, for some reason a lot of our guests like shopping at Macys (we've already received almost everything we asked for there and they always claim to have a "sale"). It also depends on what items you want. I liked Pottery Barn for linens and bath towels and shower curtains. I liked a few furniture items at Crate & Barrel and Macy's carries the fiestaware plates I had always wanted.

I'm going to second the person who recommend against registering at Macy's.  Their registry is just not managed well, we've already received duplicates, and there have been several things backordered.  Also, their pricing is bizarre - we have pillows that were $30 when we registered, but apparently that was during a sale and their regular  price is $120!  Their sales are random - so one day we'll look and things will cost $x and the next day we'll look and they're a completely different price.  And store prices are different from online prices.  Really annoying.  Also, pretty much everything we registered for at Macy's is also available at Bed Bath and Beyond, and the prices at BBB are usually cheaper and definitely more consistent. You might want to try Crate and Barrel for at least the entertainment system.  And Pottery Barn may have some of the bed and bath items.
