What is a trunk show?

I'm new here and want to plan a green wedding if possible. Does anyone know what a trunk show is? I saw a gown called pure and there is a trunk show at a bridal shop near my house called Blush. Is that like a fashion show?

    No its where a designer comes in and brings thier new collection and normally they give a 10% or slightly higher discount if you buy the gown at the trunk show.

    Bridal shops normally carry the gowns of a designer, but the shop has trunk shows with more gowns of the particular designer than the shop normally carries. As mentioned by the previous post, the bridal shop will offer a discount, but this is only good during the "trunk show" time, and the bridal shop will not usually extend this discount after the trunk show. Usually the trunk show focuses on the designers latest line (i.e., Fall or Spring).
