Affordable Outdoor Wedding/Indoor Reception Venues in DC Area

Hi all,

We're looking for affordable venues to host an outdoor wedding ceremony and indoor reception (and must be accessible!) within an hour of DC. We're aiming for under $150 guests and are hoping to keep our entire wedding budget between $20,000 to $25,000. (There will be a lot of DIY projects!)

Does anyone have any suggestions? We keep finding a lot of great places, but many are out of our price range. This weekend we're looking at Glenview Mansion, Brookside Gardens, Woodend Mansion/Sanctuary, and River Creek Club for some comparison. If anyone has thoughts on these, feedback would be so helpful.

Thank you!

also check out Bretton Woods Recreation Center.  It is located on River Rd about 40 minutes outsdie of DC (through Potomac).  I just had my wedding reception there in June and was THRILLED.  I paid about $120/guest which included dessert, service and alcohol.  Their event planner Kevin is fantastic!
They can do a ceremony on their lawn overlooking the golf course and have a beautifull ballroom.

I believe both of these may be in your price range.  They are both lovely spots and very, very scenic.  Perfect settings for weddings.

Mount Airy Mansion, Upper Marlboro, MD

Oxon Hill Manor, Fort Washington, MD (Near National Harbor)

So far very happy with The Norbeck country club (small, nice, acomodating) in Rockville/Olney.

We're getting married at Old House Vineyards in Culpeper. It's absolutely beautiful and family run! Our total for the rental was around $6,000. Its not cheap but we fell in love and chose to cut back in other places. We're expecting the same amount of people and we have the same budget!

Oh yes and although you all seemed to have caught on, I meant 150 guests...ignore that dollar sign.

Thank you all for these suggestions, any others are definitely welcome too! (Or any other vendors.)

We're the first of our friends to get married out here, so all of these are incredibly helpful!

We highly recommend Ceresville Mansion in Frederick!  We got married there the first weekend in June, and everything was perfect!  Included in the package is a DOC and a bridal "handler" whose job is to make sure you have food and drinks, straightens your train as you go out the door, gathers up items for you, finds lost family members for you, and basically does whatever you need!  There's a beautiful pergola and reflecting pool outside in the ceremony area, and the ballroom is gorgeous.  There are rooms for you and your bridesmaids to get ready in, as well as a room for the groom and his groomsmen to get ready in (this was kind of a big deal for us, as many venues will stick the guys in a nearby closet-sized space, bathroom, or hallway to get ready).  The Ceresville people really took good care of us during the whole planning process and were perfect on our wedding day.  They are so incredibly good at what they do that even our vendors all raved about them when they heard where we were getting married.  Definitely look into it!

The Franciscan Monestary in NE DC has a grotto that you can get married in and then have the reception in St Francis Hall.  The grounds are beautiful there.  That is where we had our reception 7yrs ago.
